Things I Want to Do After NaNoWriMo

I’m super excited for this upcoming November, mostly because it is the first time I shall be participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). For more of my thoughts on this, check out here. However, this page is for all the really great things I find out about before the end of November and would like to do, but have no time because I’m writing a novel.

October 21: My first entry for this is making (from scratch) sweet potato pierogi with rosemary butter. It would take a long time but looks mouth-watering. Thus worth it. Recipe is found here.

November 1: Want to knit again. It’s been too long since I’ve knit because I’ve been prepping for WriMo. I really want to make a tam. Which is a type of hat. I also have a feeling that I’m going to want to try to break what will soon be an outrageous addiction to coffee and remember how to sleep.

November 11: I really really want to make butternut squash gnocchi. I had it at a restaurant in Vancouver once and fell in love. I found a pretty easy looking (though time consuming) recipe here at the Food Network. Mmf delicious.

I’d also like to actually finish 1984. I’m reading for class and rereading my writing and playing text twist and as much as I love words sometimes I need a break….so watch Community or Frozen Planet on the BBC. My brain feels a bit overloaded and can’t always handle Orwell. Oh well. I shall persevere.

NaNo Success

December 6: It’s over! I almost don’t believe it. Now I guess I’ll be doing all the stuff…which isn’t that much. Except for the getting ready fro Christmas part. Still a lot to do there. And lots of cooking and knitting. But instead of NaNoWriMo I now have final essays to write for school. So I suppose this should really be a “What to do over winter break” list. Watch this space for potential updates….

Ooh! Ooh! And I usually don’t like pumpkin-flavored things that much, but I would be down for these pumpkin cream cheese muffins. Definitely a Christmas-day indulgence.

And THESE muffins.

Oh. My. Goodness. And these wonderful looking truffles.

March 15:  So I’ve done some of this stuff….I made the pumpkin cream cheese muffins and I started knitting again. But now I kind of want to get back into a NaNoWriMo state of mind. With a new story. WHY AM I CRAZY?? Oh so nuts. Oh, and I also finished 1984. So there’s that. I’m an accomplished person.

  1. Yes. Sleep would be nice. I’m hitting that point where (especially here in dark, dark Scotland) all I want to do is sleep. But I’ll power through. Congrats on hitting 50,000 so quickly!
